The Next Step in U7 Hockey
U7 Senior Timbits is designed for more experienced young players who can skate in full hockey equipment and have already been introduced to basic hockey skills. The program adds more structure, more skill repetition, and small-area gameplay while keeping the focus on fun and development.
Program Highlights
Best Fit
Typically for 6-year-olds or players ready for more advanced U7 development.
Ice Times
Two 60-minute weekend sessions: one skills session and one small-area game session.
Skill Focus
Skating, puck-handling, passing, shooting, individual tactics, and small-area play.
Instruction
Certified instructors with approximately a 1:10 player ratio.
What Sessions Look Like
- One shared-ice skill development session each weekend
- One shared-ice small-area game session each weekend
- Groups of approximately 10–12 players
- Rotational teaching stations for skill development
- Cross-ice setups to maximize space, puck touches, and engagement
- Includes Hockey Canada Membership and Insurance coverage
- Includes Timbits uniforms, medals, and gifts
Small-Area Gameplay
During small-area game sessions, the rink is divided into two game zones at either end, with the middle used as an active rest or play zone. This format keeps players moving, involved, and engaged.
- No structured gameplay or scorekeeping
- Pond Hockey rules
- No regular goalies
- Focus on fun, movement, confidence, and puck touches
