U11 Hockey
A Key Development Stage
The U11 program is designed for players born in 2016 and 2017. This is a key stage where players continue to build core hockey skills while learning team play, competition, and commitment.
North SEERA follows the Hockey Alberta U11 Pathway and provides a supportive and challenging environment for players at all skill levels.
Team Structure
- Teams typically include 13–18 skaters and 1–2 goalies
- The number of teams depends on total registration
- Teams compete city-wide through the Edmonton Federation Hockey League (EFHL)
- Tiering follows the Alberta One Standardized Tiering Model
- Evaluations are conducted by an independent evaluation provider
What to Expect
Season
Runs October through March with games, practices, and team activities.
Schedule
Players typically participate 2–4 times per week including games and practices.
Games
League games are played across Edmonton area with balanced competition.
Tournaments
Teams may participate in tournaments and exhibition games throughout the season.
Development Opportunities
- Power skating sessions
- Skills development clinics
- Goalie-specific training
- Additional development sessions offered throughout the season
U11 Competitive Stream (NS401)
North SEERA’s top U11 team provides a more competitive and development-focused experience for players seeking additional ice time and structured development opportunities.
This program includes increased time commitment, additional development sessions, and a higher level of competition.

U11 AA is managed at the club level and is not part of North SEERA. Players interested in AA must register with their designated club based on elite boundaries.
If your player is not selected, they are welcome to return and register with North SEERA.
