The U13 program continues to build on the foundation established in earlier divisions, with an increased focus on team play, competition, and individual development.
Players participate in structured league play, with teams formed through evaluations and tiered to ensure balanced competition across all skill levels.
What to Expect
Game Structure
Structured league play with referees, scores, standings, and team-based competition.
City-Wide Play
Games and practices may take place across Edmonton and surrounding communities.
Flexible Schedule
Practices and games may take place on weekdays or weekends.
Development Focus
Skill development is tailored to each team’s tier, ability level, and needs.
Evaluations & Team Formation
- Teams are formed through evaluations held in September
- Players should expect multiple evaluation skates
- Tiering places players with similar skill levels for balanced competition
- Goalies are evaluated and assigned where registration numbers allow
- Players are welcome regardless of prior hockey experience

North SEERA forms multiple U13 teams based on registration numbers and evaluation results. Teams are tiered to support balanced competition and appropriate development for players at all levels.
U13 AAA/AA Pathway
U13 AAA/AA is managed at the club level and is not part of North SEERA. Players must register with their designated club based on elite boundaries.

In addition to registration fees, each U13 player is typically required to contribute team seed money at the beginning of the season. This amount is set by each team and is commonly used to support tournaments, exhibition games, team events, and other team-level expenses.
